Hi I'm Ginelle

I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow Him in faith. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, studying to be a high school teacher. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. So I left my family, my studies, and my hobbies for a year and a half in order to share what matters most to me as a full-time Mormon missionary in the land of the rising sun.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very active Mormon family. However, not everyone in my family has stayed Mormon. As a teenager, I knew that I would have to find out for myself if the gospel was true. I had read the scriptures (the Bible and the Book of Mormon) and I prayed and asked my Heavenly Father if these books of scripture (particularly the Book of Mormon) taught truth. I had heard other people talk about a "burning of the bosom" type of experience. I had no such experience. I didn't feel an overwhelming surge of spiritual strength or anything. I was a little bit disappointed. If I asked God, wouldn't He answer me in some way? As I thought more about it, I realized that God really had answered me. Though I didn't feel an overwhelmingly strong spiritual confirmation, I did feel peace. I remembered all the times throughout the year when I needed help, and I found comfort and peace and answers to questions through reading the scriptures. I didn't receive a strong confirmation when I finished reading the Book of Mormon, because I received a confirmation of its truthfulness the whole time I was reading it. I already knew it was true. god had already shown that to me. I started out as a Mormon because I was raised that way. But I stayed a Mormon because this religion gives me more comfort and peace and purpose and joy than anything else in life.

How I live my faith

I live my life with faith, and I live my faith with my life. I strive each day to be good for something, because I know that I have something I can offer. I try my best to see others for who they are. Every person that I see is loved very dearly by their Father in Heaven. I strive to live my faith by developing this God-like love for everyone I see. As a missionary I get to help others recognize their divine identity every day. I spend my time finding, inviting, and teaching others to find more happiness in their life.
