Hi I'm Cord

I am from east Texas, I am number 7 of 13 kids, I sell security systems door to door in Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the frozen tundra of Edmonton Alberta. I am come from a yours, mine and ours family of 13 kids, of the 13 I am number 7. I served in the Ogden Utah mission from 2009-2011. I do online school thru BYU-Idaho. My favorite thing to do is share the Gospel and its good news with everyone. I spent most of youth growing up in Arizona. When I was 15 my family and I moved to East Texas, a small town of 250 people, where our family was the only members. It was here where I was truly converted to the church.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 I moved to my small town of Texas. There I became friends with a preacher of another faith. I started to talk to this preacher about his faith and mine. It upset me that he knew more about what I believed than I did. I took it upon myself to do my own personal research in my own faith. Asking questions to the missionaries and my branch president, going back and forth between the two. There came a point where we got in the conversation of life after death. It was here where I truly valued my Faith. When I learned that our Father in Heaven has a place for those who did not get an opportunity in this life to accept or even hear about the Gospel, get the opportunity in the next life. This being ancestors, people from other countries where maybe preaching of God is not allowed. No other faith could answer my question on this topic. I felt the Spirit bring this true to me in a very physical feeling and not long after I read the Book of Mormon and prayed and received the exact same feeling from Heavenly Father that this book is true and His church is back here on the earth.

How I live my faith

I love to share the Gospel any chance I get, I love the challenge of it. Meeting someone, asking them about themselves, truly learning about them and what makes the unique, then sharing with them what I hold most important to me in this life. I go out with the missionaries where I live on a weekly basis. Teaching them things i learned on my mission.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

When it comes to holidays, party all year I say! haha Wear you Sunday best in church, really. There are times I wear a nice shirt buttoned up because I'm on the road and I just don't have a suit with me. When it really comes down to it, I understand the doctrine that my Heavenly Father will love me regardless, and He wants me there no matter what. Because He loves me and I love Him, I'm gonna show him respect whenever I can. But he knows the thought and intents of my heart and He is the only one I need to answer to. Show more Show less
