Hi I'm Jim Yates

Hi, My name is Jim Yates and I am a Mormon, "Matthew 5:16".

About Me

My wife and I were baptised by our youngest son while he was on his Mission in Manchester, England. He joined the Church when he was seventeen. While he was away from home and on his Mission, we received a knock at the door by two Elder Missionaries attempting to deliver the "Lamb of God Video", we hadn't ordered? We normally would have sent them on their way, but both my wife and I invited them in, not interested in joining the Church we were Presbyterians, just mainly interested in finding out what it was that our son was doing in Manchester, England. After the Missionaries delivered their video and messages and left our home, we both turned and looked at each other and said, "there is no way our skateboarding, surfer son is doing that." The Missionaries respectfully asked if they could come back and share more information. We later decided we wanted to have what our son had. We decided to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Our son was on his one year mark of a two year mission. My wife wanted to wait until he returned home to baptize us. When the other members found this out they said we could ask permission from our son's Mission President and have him baptize us in England. The rest of the story is history is, "it's changed our lives forever", and it just keeps getting better and better.

Why I am a Mormon

We know this is the true Church, and that one day we and all of our ancestors will be together as a family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

We now know and understand the many questions we've asked ourselves over the years such as, "what is the purpose of life, and what our we doing here?" We know that family members can be together forever, especially in the hereafter. And, that brings much joy and understanding of our purpose. We our active members in the Church since the year 2000, and are especially greatful for the many blessings and joy we have received from serving others.
