Hi I'm Rachel

I'm an Aunt. I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a grand daughter. I am a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Rachel. I am the youngest child of six and my siblings are my best friends! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which brings so much happiness, peace, comfort and helps me understand my purpose and my divine potential for the life after this. I recently received a mission call for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to Frankfurt Germany! I couldn't be more excited to share what I know to be true with others! I hope to be an answer to someone's prayer and help someone find the happiness that I have found in my Savior, in His atoning sacrifice, and in His gospel that was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and is once again on the Earth today in its fullness!!

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon is not a just a title I give myself, it means so much more. A "Mormon" is just a nickname we have been given. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Joseph Smith was not the founder of the church, Christ was, and he established it when He lived on the Earth. He had priesthood power and authority to perform miracles and to do God's work. He called Twelve Apostles. He taught love, kindness, charity, service. He was an example and showed us how and why we all need to be baptized. He visited the temples. He administered the sacred ordinance of the sacrament and taught us why we partake of it. He suffered for our sins and paid the price that we were not able to pay. After His death the church he established fell into apostasy and many of these simple doctrines were corrupted and were lost. Thousands of years pasted (Dark Ages, Middle Ages, ect.) until 1820 a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith who lived in New York during a great religious excitement was confused by the many different religions and wondered which church he should join. Joseph read in the Bible James 1:5 that says if you lack wisdom in your life, you can ask God through prayer and He will give you direction and help. Joseph decided to pray and ask God which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph in a vision and told him that none of the churches he questioned had the fulness of the truth. Jesus Christ's true church was again restored through the modern day prophet Joseph Smith. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints has a prophet today and Twelve Apostles called by God, we administer the sacrament, we have temples around the world today, we believe in the power of the Atonement, men have the authority to priesthood power, we baptize by immersion, we strive to serve and love others. I am a Mormon because I know I'm a member of Jesus Christ's church which has the fullness of truth.

How I live my faith

Growing up I have learned what it feels like to be the black sheep in a group but along with that I have learned what it feels like to stand even if that means all alone. I live my faith by never being ashamed of what I know to be true and to never lower my personal standards for any occasion or for anyone else's approval or appraisal. I also live my faith by serving and teaching! I have held various callings and leadership positions in church and each has helped shape my character and given me a better understanding that every person is precious in the sight of God. We are His children. It is not a coincidence that we have been sent to this Earth to live in a family and to be born to a mother and father. We have a heavenly home just like the one we have here on Earth with a Father and Mother who love us and want to return to them one day. I live my faith by having faith.
