Hi I'm Elder Thompson

I'm from Alaska, I love snowboarding, bicycling, hiking, just about anything outdoors, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. During winter in Alaska you will see me out snowboarding or sledding. I also like cross country skiing and winter hiking. Winters in Alaska are long and cold though,so we get a lot of fun time inside. Movies, movies, and more movies. When I am not doing those things I spend a lot of time with my young single adult ward. We have fiestas, dodge ball, mix and mingles, firesides, and all kinds of other fun activities during the winter. As soon as the sun comes out and it get warmer, I come out too. I really enjoy mountain biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, motor sporting, building stuff, and just about anything else you can do outside when the sun is up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the only true gospel of Jesus Christ. That through the knowledge that I have gained as a member of Christs church I will be able to return to live with my Heavenly Father. I know that my family will be there also for eternal happiness. I am a Mormon because I have taken the steps of repentance and applied them in my life to be where I am now, on a mission. I am a member of this church because without it I would have no direction. I would be wandering, trying to find my place in the world without the guidance of my Heavenly Father. Knowing where I came from, why am here, and where I am going is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping myself grounded with good people. I am part of a young single adult ward. Its a congregation full of single adults that are not married. A lot of return missionaries looking for there eternal companions. This group of people provides good solid anchors to help when life is not easy. It helps me stay on the right side of what I should be doing in life when I have good people surrounding me. We have some many activities throughout the week that it hardly leaves any room to be bored. I am on a mission right now for the LDS church but when I get home I look forward to seeing those that have been a big support in getting me here.
