Hi I'm Caleb Drake

I was born to play football. I'm a country boy. I love hard work. I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

Faith, Family, Football. That's what I live for. I was raised on a small farm in southern Utah, and lived in Texas during my high school years. Farming runs in my family, so I have many hard working men and women to look up to. One of the greatest lessons I've learned from them is to never quit until the job is done. I love fixing things. I have amazing parents, an older sister, three younger brothers, and they are all examples to me. I love my family more than anything. Football is my life! I take every opportunity I can to play football, and hope to be able to play it for the rest of my life. I'm competitive. There aren't many things that make me happier than flying around a football field knocking people's lights out. I credit a lot of the person I am today to the game of football and the life lessons it's taught me. I also love working, doing anything with trucks, fishing, hunting, being outdoors, any kind of physical activity, being with my family, and especially strengthening and sharing my faith in Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it's Jesus Christ's church. The LDS church and it's teachings has brought me closer to God than anything else on earth ever could. It means everything to me. Everything I know to be true is based off of my testimony of one book, The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon has answered my greatest questions. One verse in the Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 32:3 says, "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and it's always told me what I should do. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and he saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Greatest of all, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I love him with all my heart, and I'm thankful for what he's done. I know that because of what he's done I can be free from sin, I can return to my Father in Heaven, and I can be with my family forever. I love my faith! I wouldn't trade it for anything.

How I live my faith

I believe that everything I do should show my faith. I know that Jesus Christ is the perfect example of the kind of person we need to be, so I try to do what Jesus did. I love helping others. I am always looking for opportunities to help someone in need, whether it's a big job or just opening a door for them. I strengthen my faith by studying the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, and by going to church. I couldn't live my life without the guidance that studying the word of God and attending church gives me. I have faith that through Jesus Christ I can become a better person, even a perfect person like he is, so I try to become better every day. My favorite verse is in the Book of Mormon, it's Alma 26:12, and it says, "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." I would be nothing without the strength that God gives me. I can't do it without him, so I always have a prayer in my heart asking for his help, whether I'm working, playing sports, or anything. I know that through God's strength we can do ANYTHING, so I rely on him to help me with everything I do. I pray that I will be successful, I do my best, and then thank him for his help. By relying on God's strength I've been able to accomplish all of my goals. I try to be an example. I also share my faith with others. My faith has made me happier than anything else, so I try to help others grow theirs. One way I'm doing this is by serving a full time mission in the Carolinas, which means I'm dedicating 2 full years of my life to sharing the gospel. As much as my faith has made me happy, nothing has made me happier than helping other people change their lives and develop their own faith in Jesus Christ.
