Hi I'm Joshua Tesch

I'm the eldest of 6. I love music. I love sharing the Gospel. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church. My entire family are members. I am serving a mission in Roseville, California. I enjoy music very very much. I am currently a musical theater major on a tuition waiver through the department. I love life, writing, music, and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born into the church. Which, obviously, has made a large impact on my life. But its not about where you come from, its about where you end up and how you get there. My testimony of the gospel has grown substantially throughout the past months. The tests and trials I have gone through and helped me grow in innumerable ways. I know that my Redeemer lives and that through Him all men might be saved. Serving The Lord has been the greatest blessing I have yet received.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing the kind of happiness the gospel brings into my life. I will be showing my love for my Savior by serving a mission and living the covenants I have made in the temple.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Joshua Tesch
The name "Mormon" actually comes from the LDS religious text, The Book of Mormon. We, the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been called Mormons because of the prosecutors in Joseph Smith's time would call members that, and it stuck. Most, if not all members do not find the term offensive although the First Presidency of the church have emphasized the importance of our full title because it explains who we are and what we represent: Latter-day Saints who act in the name of Jesus Christ in His church.
