Hi I'm Justin Barker

I love to run. I love French Toast. I love dogs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

To describe myself all I need to say is that I love life and I love to laugh. I have grown in up in an athletic family and we all like to go running, it is the best. I grew up playing football and running track. Sports were a huge part of my life but after high school I decided to hang up the cleats and now I am focusing on becoming a Doctor. I have loved the functions and the design of the human body since a young age. I am hoping and studying to become a heart surgeon. I also come from a family of 6 kids and I love it, I wouldn't change the circumstances that I have had in my family life, because it has made me who I am today. As of now I am about to finish my two year mission that I have been serving for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I know it has blessed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

To put it simply, I am a Mormon because I know that it is the Lord's Church on the earth today. That is a bold claim but I know it to be so. When I went through some rough medical times in my teenage years I could find no peace anywhere but with this Church. Yes, I was born into the church and taught the doctrine from a young age. But, until I was struggling medically and decided to turn to the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, that I came to know this was true. Once I knew that, I didn't care what others said because I knew that this was the true church of Jesus Christ and it brought me so much peace, it was amazing. If you are wondering why we are Mormon and share these things, just ask for a copy of the Book of Mormon (via this website) and read it with a desire to know if it is true and then ask God if it is true. I know he will answer you. Then you can be one of all us "Mormons" that tells the world why we are Mormon. It is a great institute, I highly recommend it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what the Lord asks of me. Meaning I read my scriptures, pray, go to church, serve others and many other things. I know that God wants each of us to let our faith become who we are; rather than it just being something we do on Sunday. I try to do that. Each day I strive to get better. As long as I do that, God will be pleased with me. Also, I am about to finish my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. By serving this two year mission I have lived my faith by doing nothing else but sharing it. What a blessing it has been, to have learned the process of becoming converted and teaching others how to live in a way that would please God.
