Hi I'm Jonny

I grew up in Springville, Utah. I am an eagle scout. I'm currently serving in the OCM (Ohio Cleveland Mission) and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I play football, rugby and I do wrestling. I really just like to get out and be active no matter what sport it is. I recently attended a semester of college. I am an eagle scout. I was one of the top in my class in high school. I love hanging out with friends and chilling with my family. The board game that I love playing is risk. My friends and I play that all the time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because through my life's experiences I've found that this is the church where true joy is found. I've found that as I have lived the gospel commandments in my life I am happy. There were times that I didn't obey the church's teachings and I can honestly say those were the most horrible and lonely times of my life. But now I can feel the holy spirit with me constantly and I have no fear. I have had my own share of witnesses and testimony builders in my life that I could explain all day but the biggest thing is that I love the Lord and want to serve Him with all my heart, might, mind, and strength and that's why I'm out on my mission and that's why I'm in this church. If I wasn't a Mormon, I would never have truly known my one true God. There isn't a fear in me of being alone. That's why I've chosen to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I help in my church through my calling. My calling was in the nursery. This is where all the children in the ages of 18 months up to 4 year old children go while their parents are in their separate church meetings. I was also a home teacher. I have two families that I go and visit and bring a lesson to. I'm blessed to teach a young man that is my same age in one of the house holds and to teach a newly married couple in the other. Now I am serving my mission in the Ohio Cleveland Mission and spreading the gospel to all that will accept it from me. I live my faith really by following the promptings that i get from the Holy Spirit though and showing others that Christ loves them and since Christ loves all of them, I will love them too.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal life is the gift of God for those that have truly prepared themselves to receive all of God's blessings, including exaltation. In other words, those that prepare themselves and make themselves in line with the will of God and put themselves in harmony then they will inherit His blessings, which signifies that of eternal life, which is life everlasting with our Father in Heaven. For those who do not prepare themselves, they inhabit a state that they are spiritually ready to inhabit. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Mormons believe in the Bible because it contains God's Holy Word. The Bible teaches a man about God's dealings with men and also testifies of the Savior throughout the entire book. The Bible also teaches us about standards and morals that exist today and how we should react in situations. Consider it like a journal of the wisest, most righteous men in the world, wouldn't you want to learn from it as well? Especially since it has the words of the Living Christ in there as well? How can I know Mormonism is true?

To know if the path of Mormonism is really true there are three things that you must do to know for yourself. You must 1) Pray to know of the truthfulness, with the sincere desire to act on the answer that you receive, 2) Read the Book of Mormon diligently continually asking God if this is the truth and He will show it to you, and 3) Visit the church itself. By the fruits of the tree ye may know if they are the things of God or not. Put it up against the test! Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

I know that Christ is my Personal Savior. Every other "Mormon" that has read the Book of Mormon, and has received an answer knows that Christ is their Savior. I Love Christ and I will always follow him. All of us are Children of God. I will follow Christ forever. I am a Christian. Every other Mormon that stands in my shoes would answer equally and just as emphatically that they follow Christ and are Christians as well. Show more Show less
