Hi I'm Brianna Tanner

I am from Austin, TX. I am currently serving a mission. Waiting on my visa to Brazil, so I am currently in Missouri Independence.

About Me

I am from Austin, Texas, but I grew up in good 'ole Georgia! (: all about the four seasons, and summer heat, and outdoors there. Georgia is home for sure. I have been called to the Fortaleza East mission in Brazil. While waiting on my visa, I am serving in the Missouri Independence Mission. I am happy to serve and ready for the work. I sing and play guitar. I also teach guitar for beginners. I want to be an ER nurse, but I love so many other things too, so I just plan to go to school when I get back from my mission. I want to be a helping hand. I also sketch. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking and biking. My family means the most to me. They are my best friends. I love this gospel with all my heart and mind. I try everyday to learn and do the will of the Lord in His work.

Why I am a Mormon

To be honest, I grew up in the church. I don't have some BIG story of how I came to know this gospel is true and why I chose to be a mormon. I didn't just want to take my parents word for it of course. I wanted to know for myself that it was true. Over my life so far, I have prayed and cried out to my Heavenly Father, asking if what I was doing was right, if the Book of Mormon was the word of God. Every time I got down on my knees, I would get my answer. Yes. Well, it was more like a Duh, but the answer was still yes. I didn't even really have to ask, I already knew. Every thing about being a mormon is just right. It makes me happy, my family happy and those around us can see it. Sometimes I just shout out, "I love being a mormon!" because I am filled with SO much joy. I wouldn't want to be any other way. I love being a Latter-day Saint. I know that my Savior and friend, died for me. He suffered so I wouldn't have to. HOW AMAZING IS THAT?? I know that the Book of Mormon isn't just legends or made up stories to help us believe in God, but they are words of true prophets that testify of Jesus Christ. That book is the word of God. I have no doubt of that. I know that our prophet today can really receive revelation from God and he is His mouthpiece and he speaks truth and wonderful council. I know all of it is true.

How I live my faith

I love being a Mormon. love it. I got to serve in my class before I graduated from high school, and it was by far my favorite calling. I got to be involved with all the girl youth and help organize activities and ways to reach out to others. I grew as a person, but it also helped me grow spiritually. I learned so much. I loved being an example to the girls younger than me, but most of all, I loved being their friend. Now that I am serving the Lord full time, I can't imagine any thing else. What is better than serving the Lord? come one now! It's been hard, but I've learned a lot. As I serve the Lord, my love for people grows stronger and deeper. My faith has been tried as I have been out, but it's been worth it. I can say, with all my heart, this is it. There is nothing better, nothing that can bring any one this much happiness than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I could dwell on my moments of hardship, but the bumps in the road aren't what I am proud of, but the person I was after and knowing I have my Savior every step of the way makes that possible. Living it sometimes is the hardest part, but it's what makes every thing make sense and worth it, at least for me, especially as a missionary.
