Hi I'm Jackie Anderson

I am a grandmother, a mother, a naturalist and I am a Mormon.

About Me

The first time I saw a hummingbird through a good pair of binoculars, I was hooked on birding. That was a few years ago and now I work as a volunteer helping others learn about the plants and birds of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The more I learn about nature the more my belief in a creator is strengthened. I also believe God was the ultimate scientist and that he used evolution to create this earth. I love to take my grandchildren hiking and teach them about the wonder of nature. I feel if they learn to know and appreciate the natural world they will be better stewards of the earth. I am also the cool grandma who collects snakeskins, dried toads, and bugs.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon helps me feel part of a community and makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I grew up on a farm, and I like to work at gardening and volunteer as a master gardener in my community. At church, I teach Sunday School.
