Hi I'm Brooklyn Bown

I am from Layton, Utah. I am about to serve a LDS mission in Hawaii. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been attending college to become an Elementary Teacher, but I am taking a break for the next 18 months to serve a LDS mission in Hawaii. I have been working at a sandwich and cookie shop and have enjoyed it greatly. I love to dance, cook, sew, read, be with family and friends, and be outdoors. I was on the drill team and yearbook staff when I was in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I have gained that knowledge for myself and I cannot deny it. I prayed to our Heavenly Father and received an answer. I feel of His influence everyday. I know that He knows us and has a plan for us. He loves each of us so much. I have felt of that love. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He suffered and died for me and each of us. He knows what we are going through and He will help us if we turn our hearts to Him. He loves us so much. I know that He will come again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I love that book. I know that Joseph Smith restored the church of Jesus Christ again to the earth and was a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today. I know that families can be together forever. That brings such a comfort to me. I know that prayer is real communication with our Father in Heaven. This knowledge brings such happiness to my life and I want everyone to feel of this happiness.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. I recently had a calling in my singles ward to be on the Family Evening Committee. We planned activities that were held every Monday night. A singles ward consists of many single adults that moved away from home. Family Home Evening is an opportunity for all of us to get together like a family. I visited sisters in my ward every month to see how they are doing, help them, and share a spiritual message. I was in the Hill Cumorah Pageant in New York the last two summers. This is a show that tells the story of the Book of Mormon. It helps viewers gain understanding of our beliefs and feel the Spirit. I love this pageant. It changed my life forever and strengthened my testimony greatly.
