Hi I'm McKean

I'm a runner, an artist, a musician, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love running long distance in the canyons nearby and I love painting and drawing the beautiful things around me. I believe creating something new is one of the most invigorating, yet tiring things you can do. I'm a musician. I play the piano, cello, accordion, and the organ. I love my family and my dogs and the many people around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but that's not the only reason why I'm a member. I had my own conversion to the gospel when I was about 14 because that is when I started reading the Book of Mormon and praying and actually trying to look for the truth instead of taking every word that someone said in church as being absolutely true. I know that it was by the Holy Ghost that I came to know that these things were true and they also made sense to me, giving me peace of mind and hope for the future.

How I live my faith

I'm about to leave on a Mission to Germany and Austria and I'm really excited to serve the people there and share such a wonderful message with them. I think that we all have something to give to the world and to God for all that we have received and for me, two years of my life is nothing in comparison to what I have. I know that we all make mistakes and we will continue to make mistakes, but living with faith in the Lord and trying to become better is what is truly important.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Some people might think that Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon, but he just translated it. It was really written by ancient prophets that came from Jerusalem to the Americas in about 600BC, as well as their descendants. It contains a record of the "Nephite" people and it bears record of Jesus Christ's visit to the Americas after his death and resurrection. In John 10:16 Jesus talks about the other sheep that were not of that fold, which is referring to the Nephites and possibly other civilizations that existed at that time. Show more Show less
