Hi I'm Amber

I love life. I love God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really love adventure. My life is pretty busy a lot of times being a college student preparing to enter the nursing program, preparing to serve a mission in San Diego, learning Spanish and so on but I've found that having a spunk for life is one of the most important things I can do for myself. I love to run, sometimes I just run until I see something new and beautiful. I also play Ultimate Frisbee! My high school team was state champions! My passion is really in hiking though, I love adventurous hikes with rock climbing challenges and beautiful trees and breathtaking scenery. It's utterly amazing what God has provided for us to live on.

Why I am a Mormon

The plan for as long as I can remember was to go to school, get into the nursing program and finish in time to serve a mission at age 21, ever since I was little and I had a "future missionary" tag pinned on my dress that was the plan. I was right on schedule, ready to apply for the nursing program and for some reason, I did not feel good about it. It was driving me crazy because that has ALWAYS been the plan! Why would it suddenly change? I prayed for a week about why I was not feeling good about following through with this plan. I knew that if I didn't get into the Nursing program this year that I would be off schedule and unable to serve a mission until I was almost 23! That was not the plan. So about a week after Nursing applications were due, I went to General Conference with a hopeful heart of finding an answer as to why I was so uneasy. The age change for sister missionaries was dropped from 21 to 19 and boy it was a call from God. It was like the Angels of Heaven came down and sang to me telling me that this was the new plan, to serve a mission now, dedicate a year and a half of my life to spreading the gospel right now in my life instead of later. God answered my prayer and I will spend the rest of eternity showing him how grateful I am for that. Prayer is actually the part of my testimony that I have to work hardest for because my poor patience makes it difficult to kneel down in one place for a time. However because I continually have to work for it, it is one of the strongest parts of my testimony. I know that God listens to me and loves me. I can feel His love so much that often I feel like it is too big for my heart and it just bursts out of me! That is what I want to share with the world- the Love of God. It is amazing.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life and its always been my goal to serve a mission as a sister missionary. I spent time recently in my ward as a teacher and I think that was the perfect preparation for a future missionary. Now I am just so excited for the opportunity that lies right in front of me to devote every waking moment of the next year and a half teaching the people of San Diego about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and sharing how much it means to me.
