Hi I'm Trisha

I'm a college student and future Texas Missionary who loves music, sports, the outdoors, food, and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a combined family of six kids where I lie right in the middle, I'm lucky number four! I'm currently a college student at BYU-Idaho. I was in a rock band in High School. I play a number of instruments such as the flute, trombone, piano, guitar, and ukulele. Most of which I'm proficient at, but trying to get better. Sports are one of the best outlets in my life specifically volleyball and basketball. I thoroughly enjoy four-wheeling, camping, and taking walks. A campfire hot-dog roast may quite possibly be the key to my heart. I love seeing new places and meeting people from diverse backgrounds. I'm currently preparing to serve a mission in San Antonio, Texas!

Why I am a Mormon

As I've mentioned before, I've been a member my entire life. I've always believed the church to be true, but for the longest time I realized I was mainly relying on the testimonies of others to get me through. It wasn't until I was about 19 years old that I truly became converted. Like everyone in this life I've seen the effects that the world can have on a person. There is endless heartache, anger, sadness, disappointment, and people that feel as if there is no purpose in being here. It was when I saw and understood this that I developed a love for this gospel and truly understood that each of us has a Heavenly Father who loves us for who we are. We have a Savior Jesus Christ who atoned for our sins and died that we may one day be able to live together again. No one in this life is perfect, but one of the greatest things that I love about this gospel is the ability that each of us has to grow and progress throughout this life. Words cannot express how much I love this gospel and what it means to me in my life. The fact that we have a latter-day prophet and both the Book of Mormon and Bible to lead and direct us acts as a huge comfort to me. I hate to think where my life would be without this gospel and without being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the church my whole life and I've found that each day brings new challenges and concerns, but with each day there are also marvelous things that happen. It all comes down to the kind of attitude that a person chooses to have. When thinking of living my faith to the best of my ability I've made the goal to have an attitude that allows me to live both my faith and life a little better than the day before. My church callings have played a big part in helping me get closer to achieving that goal, whether it was in serving in Young Women's, different activities committees, or in the primary. All of these have taught me the principle of service. Not just service in the church, but in serving everyone. I've found that when I can step out of myself and instead focus on helping someone else, my life is filled with so much more joy than before. The momentary concerns I had before seem to fade away and finally I find myself developing a more positive attitude. That kind of attitude is contagious!
