Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in South Carolina. I am a MoM and very involved in my community.

About Me

I'm a MoM (Mother of Multiples) and I have a singleton as well. I wasn't sure about being a parent but I love it. I am very involved in my community through the March of Dimes and the Upstate Mothers of Multiples Club (an affiliate club of the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs). My kids are little and that's challenging. I also enjoy sewing. Another thing I wasn't sure about but once I started, I fell in love! I have been married since since 1999 to a boy I met when I was four years old and I still adore him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a life-long member of the church. My parents joined the Mormon church when they were in their early teens. I went through a struggle in high school. I wasn't sure if this was the right place for me. Although I attended seminary was the Sunday School class president and my Laurels (in the Young Womens program) class president, I still struggled with my testimony. I studied and prayed and still I struggled. I played sports and it seemed like the girls on my team were having a lot of fun doing things that I had been taught were not good. I studied and I prayed some more. I went to college at a state university about 2 hours from my home. I saw a lot of partying and drinking and all the things that go along with college life. I studied and I prayed some more. Late one night, as I prayed I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace. I feeling that what I was doing was right and that staying close the Lord would help me to be happy. I transferred from that school to BYU and while I still studied and prayed about my testimony, I knew that the Lord loved me and that He died for me. I am a Mormon because I believe that the Lord doesn't want us to wander in darkness. He wants us to have light and knowledge and He gives that to us through his prophets on Earth, today.

How I live my faith

I am the Young Women's president in my ward. I love Young Women's because I feel that this is an important time in the girl's lives. I had wonderful leaders who, along with my parents, taught me about the gospel. I want the 12-18 year old girls in my ward to know and love the Lord. The YWs program along with Personal Progress are inspired programs and I know that these girls will grow closer to the Lord by following them.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! Jesus Christ is the center of our faith. The full name of our church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints." We absolutely believe in, follow and try to be like Jesus Christ. He is the Savior and redeemer of all mankind. Show more Show less
