Hi I'm Laurie

I grew up in sunny California. I love to do positive things and be around positive people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Things that I find interesting include; spending time with my family, learning new skills, making new friends, gardening, cooking, hiking, SCUBA-diving, searching and identifying plants, and reading especially the scriptures. Being a mom has given me a new appreciation for the importance of children. Children are bright and shiny lights, and they have so much to teach us. I chose to study life in college (Biology). It gave me the opportunity to appreciate nature more deeply. Life is fascinating and brings new opportunities to learn each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I seek after the light of God in all aspects of life. I am very impressed with Jesus Christ and what he was able to accomplish. He is our perfect example. His ways and words are highly worth seeking after. In searching this world, I have found that God's light is very strong in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The example set by members of the church that spend much time and effort serving others. This is a testimony to me of God's perfect love.

How I live my faith

As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have learned much about our Heavenly Father's plan for his children. I realize how important family is in this plan, so I implement the positive family-orientated teachings in my family. I enjoy belonging to this church because so many people devote their time to the service of others. I am trying to find new opportunities to serve others. My favorite calling was to teach the young girls and to plan wholesome activities with them. Recently, I was able to participate in serving a meal for missionaries from around the state. A thank you song sung by over 70 missionaries to us for our service made a special impact on me. To see that many young people singing with such joy and with pure hearts, was a very spiritual experience.
