Hi I'm Ethan Andersen

I was born in Salt Lake City, UT and have lived in Meadow, UT for the last 12 years

About Me

I was home-schooled for about 5 or 6 years between 3rd grade and 9th grade. During that time I performed Shakespearean plays in a home-school acting troop called the Kanosh Acting Company. Once I started high school I got involved with Governor's Youth Council and managed the girls' volleyball team. I did that for three years during fall sports season and I played football my senior year. I threw shot put and discus in track and field during my last three years in high school as well. I am also a convert to the LDS church. I was baptized when I was 12 years old in Feb. of 2005. I went to Millard High School in Fillmore, UT. I love physical fitness and have finished two years at Southern Utah University. I plan to graduate with a double major in Exercise Science and Human Nutrition. I also thoroughly enjoy the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and it is one of my dreams to enter the UFC and become the ultimate fighting champion.

Why I am a Mormon

Without going into too much detail, Christ has given me my life. I have suffered a fair many things and continue to do so, but I have come to find the solace, the peace, the fortitude, and the sanctuary that can be received and accomplished through Christ who gave the ultimate sacrifice of mercy for all who will turn to Him. Christ has given me more than I ever thought I could be given and I feel honored, blessed, and pleased to give Him my life in return. With all that He has done for me, it only makes sense to me that I should devote my life to serving Him. I have felt the joy and truthfulness of this gospel and I know that the principles taught in the LDS church are real and true. God and Christ continue to perform miracles today and I seek only to spread "glad tidings of great joy".

How I live my faith

I have actually just received my mission call and am called to labor in the California, Roseville mission. I have the blessing and opportunity to preach the restored gospel in the English language and I will be leaving on Feb. 6th. As far as everyday life, the way I live my faith is by setting the best example possible. I study the scriptures, say my prayers, treat all with kindness, and focus on Christ. I don't currently have a calling in my ward as I just returned from school. However, I have held such positions as a ward representative, bishop's first attendant, and others. I have taught numerous times and given my fair share of talks. I love honoring my callings and the powers which God has given me and I strive to act in a way that others can see that light within me.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Ethan Andersen
Church is a weekly opportunity to spiritually nourish ourselves and provide for ourselves in this life and the life to come. Going to the temple is an opportunity to provide sacred ordinances for those who have passed on from this life to ensure they have every chance to receive eternal life that those currently in mortality do.
