Hi I'm Shelby

I grew up in Vernal Utah, I decided to serve a mission after the age change in conference. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, I have a wonderful family consisting of my Mom, Dad, and little brother. I also have two older sisters and three older brothers from my father's previous marriage. My mother and father raised me by teaching me the gospel. I love sports, my favorite is soccer. I love to make jewelry and do crafts. I love being out doors camping, fishing, and hiking. I really love to take pictures and hope to become a photographer one day. I am a freshman in college. I love trying new things. I love to play the guitar. I write my own music and enjoy singing. I am a dog person. I did a weight lifting contest called Miss Uintah in highschool and I also did a pageant, I won Miss Outstanding Teen Queen and was able to share with second graders my patform of Treasure the Moment: having gratitude and a positive self-esteem. I look forward to serving a mission in Guatemala and getting married in the Temple one day. My best friend and love of my life will be serving a mission in New Zealand. I am so excited to take this next step in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I never really had my own testimony until when I was 16 and I had been struggling with life and having a hard time trying to figure out what my purpose in life was, who I was, and where I wanted my life to go. I finally read the Book of Mormon completely for the first time when I was 18. I had always believed it was true, but I still wasn't sure in my heart until the day after I finished reading the Book of Mormon and asked the Lord in prayer if it was true. My answer was not a suprise. I had always believed deep down that it was true, but the witness that I recieved from the Spirit was that I had always KNOWN that the church and the Book of Mormon are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be Christ like in all that I do. I have had many callings in the church and opportunities to strengthen my testimony of Jesus Christ. I am currently serving as a Mia-maids advisor in my ward. I have had many opportunities to teach others about the gospel. I was called as the stake youth activities president and was in charge of dances and activites that we did together as a stake. I have been a Beehive president, and a Laural president in Young Womens. The Young Womens program is a program that teaches young women about who they are and about their Father in Heaven. I love going to church, feeling the spirit and being able to take the sacrament. My ward is my family and I love each member very dearly.
