Hi I'm Abby Long

I'm from Idaho. I'm in college. I love dogs. I want to become a photographer. I'm on a mission in Texas. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Abby and I was born and raised in Idaho. I have a large family when you count my step and half siblings. Also, I just became an aunt at the beginning of 2013! I'm in college right now at BYU-Idaho and I one day hope to open a photography studio. I LOVE dogs. DOGS DOGS DOGS. I think it would be fun to learn how to train dogs. I rather enjoy singing, I didn't make it on American Idol or anything but I like to do it. As a child I was very outgoing and I am currently working on keeping that spirit about me. I can also tend to be very shy. I love my friends dearly they have blessed me so much in my life as I have surrounded myself with friends that had good standards. Currently I am serving an 18 month mission in Fort Worth, Texas. It's a great place to be! I love having this opportunity to share my testimony everyday! I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ and I plan to feed their sheep to the best of my abilities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the gospel brings fundamental truths that I need in my life. The gospel has meant so much to me throughout my life. I was lucky to be born into a home where we attended the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I continue to follow the principles of the church because I know they are true. I have had the spirit confirm these things to me. I have received answers to my prayers and I have seen the hand of God in my life, everyday.

How I live my faith

I like to show and live my faith by helping those around me. I will do whatever I can to help someone who needs it. I also teach classes during church sometimes. Another thing I do is I help plan events for church activities.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Abby Long
I pay tithing because we are given blessing for doing it. It may seem hard. When one thinks about it, God has given us everything that we have. Ten percent is not asking too much of us. Also the tithing that members pay help to build churches and temples. Not only that but it helps pay for the CES schools such as Brigham Young University Provo, Idaho, and Hawaii. There are a lot of good things that the money goes to. All worthy causes that I am willing to support. Show more Show less
