Hi I'm Sterling

I am from Utah. I have twin brother. I'm a missionary. I love helping people. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a family of eight kids. I have a twin brother, and we fall right at the end of the eight! I have 21 nieces and nephews. I love to go mountain biking, fourwheeling (ATVs), play soccer, mess with computers, and just socialize with friends! I'm a HUGE social nut! It's pretty much my favorite thing to do. I'm the kind of guy that wants to know everybody because I love people! Music is my passion as well. I play the piano, the French Horn, I sing, and I love them all! I have been on a huge knowledge kick lately. I just want to learn everything I can..."hungering and thirsting" after knowledge you could say, I suppose! I have been going to college, and I am now serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Mississippi Jackson Mission! I know that the Savior of the World is why I'm here today, and I have a firm belief of Him. He is my peace, comfort, and guide through the calamity, sorrow, and darkness in my world.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, I grew up in this Church, but, as everybody experiences, I came to a point in my life where I had to decide for myself if this was what I wanted to be a part of. After much prayer, thought, and reflecting, I realized that this, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has made me who I am in my life. I have grown closer to my Savior, felt His love, and I have felt God's presence in my life through the Holy Ghost and other people. There are countless reasons why I am a Mormon, but in the end, the number one reason is because of that, the love my Savior has shown me, my family, friends, and many others in my life. I love Jesus Christ. I know God lives, and that Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the world. I know that Christ has suffered for all of the world. I have felt that in my life. I follow this gospel and continue to do so because I have felt it's power. I have felt the spirit of this gospel, which has given me a sure knowledge of the truthfulness therein. That is why I want to share it with others because I have tasted of that miraculous, indescribable, redemptive feeling of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and I want others to feel the same feeling that I have felt.

How I live my faith

I live my faith right now by going out into the community and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ (the "good news") with others by any means possible. Whether that be knocking on doors, talking to people on the street, asking people if they know anyone that could benefit from this message, or another way of contacting others, chances are...we do it! I have helped teach others my age in the past at church, while at college. I try to share the message of Christ with everybody I come in contact with. I try to live day to day as an example to others of how Jesus Christ himself would act if he were on the earth today. As well as sharing my faith, I strive daily to live my life just as He would by following the commandments given to us by the Lord through His servants, the prophets. Attached to every commandment is a blessing and a promise. With that in mind, I live a certain commandment knowing that I have been promised by my Father in heaven that I will receive certain blessings for doing so, whether they be physical blessings, spiritual blessings, or both! If anybody gave me a promise on something, the Lord is one whom I would trust with holding faithful to that promise. With all of this, not only am I always striving to make this gospel a part of my life, but I am also always striving to make this gospel a part of me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Sterling
Mormon missionaries proselyte because not only is it a duty of the members of Christ's gospel, but also they want everybody to experience the goodness and feelings that they have felt and experienced. As we have felt the power of Christ's Atonement in our lives, we want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Christ devoted his entire life to serving others, so why can't we devote a small two years to spread His gospel? Show more Show less
