Hi I'm Kellie

I love my family. I love music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am towards the middle of 7 children. I am a sophomore in college studying human development. I like to run whenever I get around to actually doing it. I love to be with friends and family. I have been called to serve in the Virginia Richmond mission speaking Spanish. I can not wait to serve my Savior and help people come to know this beautiful gospel of happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this faith but I continue believe in Christ and follow the teachings because I have a testimony of its truthfulness. I know our Savior was born of a humble birth and lived the perfect life so that we may follow his example and be able to one day return to live with him. I know the atonement is real and that it has the power to change lives; I know that because it has changed mine. It is never too late to turn to our Savior and ask for forgiveness and help. I love him and the infinite light he continually shines for me everyday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be happy and keeping Christ in my life. I love to sing and believe that music is one of the most powerful ways someone can feel the Spirit. I love visiting teaching. I know consistent scripture reading and prayer are just of few of the amazing ways we can become closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

When Christ was ministering here on earth, he established His Church. After His Ascension, the Apostles were called to continue his work under His direction. After the Apostles and righteous Church members were killed, the Lord took the priesthood authority and His Church from the earth in what is called the Apostasy. Without those things, the true church and ordinances did not function as they did before. The Reformation was important but it did not have the power to bring the truth back. To reform means to change something, but to restore means to bring back to its original state. The Bible is an essential part of our knowledge about our Savior and Father in Heaven, however, during the Apostasy, there were many translations and changes that were made to it. Through Joseph Smith and the Restoration, we not only have the Book of Mormon but also translations from the New Testament where he received revelation as to what was taken out or added into the bible during the Apostasy. I am thankful for Joseph Smith and the work he dedicated his life to. I know that we may find joy and happiness in this restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Bible and The Book of Mormon.
