Hi I'm Ashlee

I am an Arizona native. I love music and friends. I am a full-time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life!! It can be so hard, but it's always so rewarding. I love to just talk to people and learn from them. I LOVE to laugh. Oh man, it is definitely the best medicine. I enjoy all kinds of music and have played the piano for as long as I can remember. One day, I hope to have a family of my own to raise in the gospel. I know that families are a central part of God's plan for us and that they bring us the most happiness, especially as we support each other in learning and living the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life, it wasn't until my teenage years that I really began to appreciate the gospel. When I was young, I tried to obey my parents by keeping the commandments mostly because they had told me to. As a teenager, though, I began keeping the commandments because I realized that it was the only way to find true happiness. I read Mosiah 2:41 in "The Book of Mormon" and recognized how I had seen those temporal and spiritual blessings come from keeping the commandments. I watched as classmates experienced pain and heartache by making choices that definitely weren't in line with Christ's teachings. I realized that I didn't want any of the temporary happiness and fun that some of those things provided; I wanted true, lasting happiness--something that can only be found by following the example of Jesus Christ and by having a full understanding of His plan for us. At that point, I began living the gospel for a different reason. I began living it because I had found that, besides the love of family and friends, it was the only thing that could bring me the true happiness and peace I was searching for. Now I have gained a testimony for myself through keeping the commandments and reading "The Book of Mormon" that this truly is Christ's church. It is the same church He established during His earthly ministry to bring each of us joy during our earthly lives and for eternity!

How I live my faith

I really love the Church!! I try to be an active participant in all activities of the church. As a 12-18 year old, I served other youth in various callings and also at girls' camp. I have been a choir accompanist, and a teacher in the Relief Society--the organization for women within the church. I love participating in church callings!! They help me get to know other people and make lasting friendships while having the opportunity to lose myself in the service of others and to learn and grow and gain a better understanding of the gospel. Now, I've left my family and friends for eighteen months to share this message with the people of Pennsylvania! I've grown to love the gospel even more and understand how it truly changes us and to desire it for everyone I meet. I read every day from the scriptures and pray often throughout the day so I can be in constant communication with my Heavenly Father and know what He would have me do. I always strive to live the commandments and to pick up and try again when I make mistakes. Each of these things helps to strengthen my testimony and brings me more happiness. I know, without a doubt, that living the principles of the gospel brings more joy into my life than anything else.
