Hi I'm Nicole

I am a college student, recently married, in the nursing program, speak Czech, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in the Czech Republic for 1 1/2 years serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I loved every moment of it and can't wait to go back! I recently got married to my wonderful husband. I am currently in the nursing program and working as a Home Care Giver. Family, school, and work definitely keep me busy. I always make time for prayer and scripture study because it really keeps me going when life gets stressful. I come from a family of four. I have a mom, dad, and an adopted sister. She is seven years older than me. My mom considers me a miracle baby because my parents had to wait 20 years before I came along! I love to play sports. I did karate as a child and later converted to basketball and played that for several years. I also swam, ran cross country, and track. My husband and I love to go mountain biking and I have recently picked up road biking as well.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion to the gospel has stemmed back from when I was a child. I remember listening to a teacher while I was in primary (class for children) and the teacher told us that when we make a decision to do or not to do something before the situation arises, it will be so much easier to stick to what we had already decided. This has helped me overcome many obstacles in my life. For example, I had decided that I would never drink alcohol. Then, later in life when opportunity arose and temptation taunted me, I was able to say no. Making the choice beforehand helped me to stick to my morals. My testimony and conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ greatly deepened later in my life when I decided that I could do hard things. As I made extra efforts to have meaningful prayers, study my scriptures, keep the commandments, and serve those around me, I felt the love of my Savior more abundantly in my life. I had more confidence in myself and confidence in my future. I know that Christ has played a central roll in my life and I know that the better I try and live the happier I am.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in the church and have found great fulfillment in it. I have participated in things from teaching to organizing activities for classmates to leading groups of people and trying to help them come closer to Christ. I love to go to the temple and I know that when I make that a priority in my life everything else seems to go better. I also love to study my scriptures. I have gained so much knowledge from them which is so precious to me. I also love to talk to people about the gospel and why I live the way I do! I also live my faith by following the council God has given us. I don't drink, do drugs, and I live a morally clean life. I know that by doing this I have felt so much peace, direction, and confidence in my life.
