Hi I'm Tricia Schroeder

I grew up in Southern California. We have seven crazy kids. I am a happy mom, wife, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny California. Loved being a member of the church. My mother's family has long been in the church going back many generations. My father is from Denmark and his mother and father converted and moved to America when he was 10 years old. I loved my youth and my friends in the church. I was baptized at age 8. My parents taught me so well how to love all people and serve in the church. Later I meet and married my husband, Greg, while studying special education at BYU. We were sealed in the Los Angels Temple and were excited to start a family and raise our children in the gospel. We moved many times in our early marriage for schooling and my husband's job. This blessed us with opportunites to meet new people and to serve in different ways in the church. My husband served for 6 years as a Mormon bishop. We were so blessed at this time. It was a challenge for me at times with a young family, but as I learned more and more to trust in the Lord I felt his love and was able to endure. We have been blessed with seven crazy, wonderful children. They have taught us so much. I have learned to rely on the Lord for my strength. I have come to know that I need the Lord every day of my life. I am so happy. I love my husband. I love my children. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because I know it is true. When I was a teenage I remember getting on my knees and praying about the Book of Mormon and having a witness of the spirit. It was a feeling of peace and warmth. I have had this feeling many more times in my life. When I was with my husband before we were married I remember this peaceful, warm feeling. I have felt this feeling after working so hard to get all the children dressed and find the shoes and rush to church for sacrament meeting. Then as the hymn is sung and looking down the row of all my children here at church, and knowing this is the right place and I feel that peace and warmth once again. Life is hard and bad things happen sometime, but I know where I can turn for peace, hope, and healing and that is in this gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by getting up in the morning and saying my prayers and read my scriptures. Being a mom is a big responsibility. I know that I need help. I know if I am worthy of the spirit, He can help me be patient and loving to my children. I also read the scripture because I want to prepare for my lesson's for Sunday. I have a calling to teach the girls ages 12-13 in the Young Women. I love this calling and really want to help these girls come to know Christ and be converted to what they believe. The church has helped me so much in becoming a good mother and wife, also coming to really know Christ. I know this is the true work of God on earth. I so love the scriptures, prayer and the Spirit in my life.
