Hi I'm Shannah

I grew up in beautiful Utah. I am outgoing and happy. I served a mission in the rolling hills of Kentucky. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 kids. I have always loved math and music. I have tutored math students for 5 years now and I hope to one day be a math teacher. I took piano lessons for 8 years and continue to play. I have also learned how to play the organ. My life is very musically centered and I love to sing with my family. I graduated from high school and after taking a leave of absence to go on an LDS mission, in Louisville, Kentucky I went to the University of Utah in the Mathematics in Education degree. I love interacting with people. I love hanging out with friends and creating memories.

Why I am a Mormon

There's really only one answer to why I am a Mormon. It's because it makes me happy. I have grown up in the church so I don't have what many would call a true "conversion story". But I have been converted. When I was a young teenager I wanted to know if what my parents had always taught me was truly what I believed. I wanted to know for myself if everything I had learned all my life was true. So I prayed about it. I prayed for a long time. And guess what? I never stopped. I learned one essential truth. This church makes me happy. If I go for even one day without talking to my Heavenly Father, I feel heavier. When I read my scriptures and talk to him, I feel lighter. I can't help but smile. That's what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is all about. Bringing people true happiness. Not the kind that may last a day or week or even a few years, but the kind that will last through this whole life and through the eternities to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to show it every single day. I live my life by the standards of the church and I never lower them. I try to show everyone I meet how much I love the Church of Christ and how much it has blessed my life. I also live my faith by going to church every Sunday. I am the ward organist and I love playing the hymns out of the hymnbook and inviting the spirit into every meeting. I live my faith by reading the scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father every day. I also live my faith by serving others in any way I can. I love volunteering to help when I can. I also make it a daily goal to make at least one person smile. Smiles can go a long way. But anyway I do it, I make sure that I never let my faith ebb. I live my faith every day and I never forget it.
