Hi I'm Kaitlin

Born in California I left home to study Humanities at BYU. Currently serving a mission in Rome, Italy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've spent most of my life growing up in Southern California. In high school I was involved with Cheerleading, both competitively as well as a coach. I began an interest in Photography at an early age that I've taken on as a side business of my own. After graduating, I moved to Utah to study at BYU. I am currently a Humanities student with an emphasis in Art History. I've chosen to temporarily leave my place at BYU in order to serve a full-time mission in Rome, Italy.

Why I am a Mormon

Many people believe that because I was born into the church I have not made this choice for myself. That couldn't be further than the truth. Every member must convert their hearts on an individual basis. I have always had a strong belief in the church, but at time those beliefs were challenged. What continues to motivate me to follow the teaching of the LDS church is my relationship with my savior. I believe that our Heavenly Father blesses us with personal revelation. I know that he loves us enough to provide us answers to our questions. I have acted upon the teachings of the church and prayed to know if they are true. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know of it's truthfulness. In both quiet everyday ways as well as stronger and more piercing ways, the spirit has confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is a true testament of the Savior and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the fullness of Christ's gospel on the earth. I choose to be Mormon because it has lead me to a life full of complete happiness. As I follow the teachings and promptings of the spirit become aware of the Lord's hand in my life. There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing that you are a child of your Heavenly Father and that he care for you. Because you are, and He does. I've made this choice because I know that it is true. I know that through the gospel I can live with my family forever. I know that we have an eternal purpose; when you know that you have that kind of potential everything else seems so small. For all of these reasons and more, I have decided to serve a full-time mission. I want to share this message with all those that will hear me. I want to help people feel the love of their Savior. I want people to find the incomparable joy that I have found in his gospel.

How I live my faith

Growing up Mormon in Southern California, I had a lot of opportunities to play an active part in my church. I served in dance committees, the Young Woman organization, Seminary and Institute classes as well as many other areas. Continuing my education in Provo I was able to continue that activity in the community as well as in the church. I've worked in local tutoring programs, served in musical callings, served in a Relief Society presidency, been on activities committees, as well as working as a caller for LDS Philanthropies. More than all of these things combined, I live my faith in my everyday actions. I live my faith by being kind to those both in my faith as well as those outside of it. I live my faith by trying to live my life in a way that betters those around me.

What is faith?

To me, faith is much more than blind action. Faith requires action, but it also requires a willing heart. When we act with faith, we must want to know of its truthfulness and we must be willing to act upon the answer we receive. I do not think Heavenly Father will give us answers that he knows we will not act upon. But, If we act, if we pray, and if we desire to follow through with the directions the lord gives us, that is faith. Show more Show less
