Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a student, an Earth lover, a bicycle mechanic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy, laughing, smiling girl. I really enjoy spending time with family. Coming from a farming family in Idaho the things that I enjoy involve a lot of time outdoors. I love pigs, camping, biking, fixing things, dancing, playing cards, learning, and occasionally playing a tune on the piano. I am very interested in the legal system. I am a volunteer at the local courthouse, and I love that environment. I love good music and listening to people play the guitar. I love setting goals, even though I don't always accomplish them. I love a good meal and would have a s'more for dinner every night if I could. I love jumping on hay bales, fishing, and going to small town parades. It may sound cliche, but really I just love life, and think there is something good in even the worst experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with the knowledge of the Gospel. My parents were, and still are, great examples to me. I was baptized when I was eight years old, and I remember loving everything about that day. From that day on I was excited about life, and I had a testimony of the Gospel. As I grew older, I doubted the things that I had always been taught and really struggled. I know that when I moved away from home to go to my first year of college that my testimony grew immensely. I had the choice to continue living the gospel and attending church on Sunday or to fall away. My parents were no longer there to hold my hand and to push me in the right direction. I was very lucky that year to have great roommates, a wonderful ward, and great examples all around me. I remember my first night there. I was in a new room, a new bed. I had no roommate yet, and I knew no one there. That night I decided to read my scriptures and write in my journal, and it was one of the best decisions I had made thus far. I realized that night that I could find the peace that I was longing for in the scriptures and by communicating with my Heavenly Father through prayer. Since that night, there are few days that I haven't taken the time to study the Gospel because I know by doing so I can receive the peace that I need daily. I love this Gospel, and I know that throughout my life the trials I have been faced with have been for my good. The Lord really has a plan for all of us, even if at the time we cannot see it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply. I really like the word simple, and I find it really important to simplify in all things. I enjoy attending church on Sunday and discussing gospel topics with people who I do and do not know. I find comfort in reading the Scriptures and writing in my journal. I am always trying to include other people and to make people feel comfortable. I think the best way I can live my faith is simply by trying my hardest to do the things that I know Jesus Christ would do. When I am confident that my Savior would be happy with my daily decisions, I am happy.
