Hi I'm Shelby

I grew up in Utah. I'm a full-time student who loves Biology. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Shelby and I grew up in this Church. I love the feeling that it brings, and I love knowing who I am, why I am here, and that there is a God that loves me. I love to read fiction and write stories, and I love to play my guitar. There is just something about creating things that I can't get enough of, and I feel great knowing that I have made something that other people can enjoy. I love music and I like to sing, even though I don't think I can really sing at all. I am a student and Brigham Young University and I am studying Biology Education. I hope some day to be a biology teacher or even a professor, if I have the chance. Ever since I was little, science has been something that makes me giddy, because it just makes so much sense to me. I love learning and finding out more about the world around me. I am a nanny, and I absolutely love the children that I work with. I hope some day to get married and have a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I chose it. I grew up in this church, but it wasn't until later in life that I actually decided it as mine. I would not be who I am today without this church, and I would not be nearly as happy or hopeful. This is my church, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward as much as I can, but it is difficult sometimes with being a full-time student with a part -time job. I love spending time with the other women in my ward because I feel like I have a network I can fall back on if I need help. I have made so many friends through my various wards, and when I go to visit teach my girls, I feel like they really know that I care about them. I want those around me to feel the love that I have for them, and service has been a key factor in helping me express that love. This church has aided me in helping those with special needs, whom I have a very soft spot for, and I was called to participate in the Special Needs Mutual in my area. It was one of the most amazing callings I have ever had in my life because it gave me a chance to associate with such sweet and tender spirits.
