Hi I'm Holly

I love to listen to music, and to hike, bike, and ski in the gorgeous mountains of Salt Lake City. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to be outdoors and enjoy the beauty of this earth. Biking and skiing are some of my favorite hobbies. I love music, the killers are one of my favorite bands. I also, enjoy watching and playing sports, I played tennis growing up and was on my high school volleyball team. I have two older sisters, a younger sister and a younger brother. I just finished my third semester of college doing prerequisites for the Occupational Therapy program at the University of Utah. After the age change in the fall general conference allowing 19 year old girls to leave on a mission instead of the previous age of 21, I decided to take a break from school and serve an LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I think God gave human nature a gift to want or need to seek answers to the questions of the heart, such as, where do we come from, and where are we going. I know that there is nothing that truly fulfills the heart's questions, quite like the true and just gospel of the church of Jesus christ of Latter day saints. I know that there is a god who loves and cares for each one of his children. I know that Christ came to this earth to atone for our sins so that we may live with him again. I know that Joseph Smith restored to true and just gospel of christ, I also know that there is a prophet in these latter days who receives revelation from heaven to help and guide us so that we may be ready to meet our Heavenly Father once this life is over.

How I live my faith

I am Leaving for my LDS mission to New Jersey on February 6th. I absolutely can't wait to share the gospel I love with others. One of my favorite bible stories is the one of the good Samaritan, and that is how I want to live my faith; never failing to serve another. I truly believe that the key to happiness is the three components talked about in Moroni of the Book of Mormon; faith, hope, and charity. If we live our lives full of faith, hope, and charity; charity being the true love of Christ, that is how we can be happy, and that is what it means to be a Mormon.

What is faith?

To have faith is to, "hope for things which are not seen, which are true"( Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 and Hebrews 11:1) Faith is movement, a movement towards god. Much like a seed described in Alma 32:28-43 faith grows. A gardner does not expect fully blossomed plants after a couple hours of planting. Faith is a process that needs to be exercised and spiritually fed daily. Show more Show less
