Hi I'm Jess

I am a graphic designer. Music is my passion. An artist and musician, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 year old from Idaho. I've lived here most of my life, except for my first two weeks (including birth) spent in Georgia. My dad likes to call me his Georgia Peach. My brother says it's because I'm sweet, round, and fuzzy. I disagree. I have a one dad, one mom, three handsome brothers, one beautiful sister, two sisters-in-law, one cute dog, and one crazy fish ( who is five years older than he was supposed to live). I love my family more than anything or anyone except for God and my Savior. I'm sortof a "jack-of-all-trades" in that I do or have at least tried to do almost anything. But my favorite things are music (singing, piano, guitar, harmonica, recorder, pots and pans (wait, what??).), art, dance, and running (...most days). I have been studying graphic design at Brigham Young University, but am currently taking an 18 month break to serve a mission in Independence Missouri. If I had to name one thing as my passion, it would definitely be music. It touches me to the very core and brings me so much happiness. I also feel that good music can make a stronger impression on people than anything else. If I had to describe myself as a color, I'd be yellow. I'm always smiling, positive, occasionally a little loud (but not obnoxious), and very bright and creative. There you have it: I'm a yellow, singing, guitar-playing, Idaho potato, and Georgia peach.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes me a better and happier person. I feel more confident, loved, blessed, and important when I am following the standards of the church. God knows who I am and He desires to have me return back to Him one day. But one of the most amazing parts of the Gospel is that He has made it possible for me to not only be with Him, but to be with my family and loved ones for eternity. Families do not have to settle with "till death do us part". Because of God's plan of happiness, families can be together for ever in the Kingdom of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true and accurate record and testament of Jesus Christ and ancient people in the American Continent. It was saved for us in these days because God knew we would need it now. The Lord knows us. He cares for us. He wants us to be happy and return to Him one day. This is why I'm a Mormon. I've found the path to happiness.

How I live my faith

I have had a motto for many years to "Be My Best Self". This means that no matter what the situation, I have standards I have set for myself and I will not break them. My personal integrity means a lot to me, but besides that, I have made promises with my God that I cannot and will not revoke. I want to do all I can to help The Lord further His work. I'll be putting everything else on hold for the next 18 months to serve as an instrument in the Lord's hands--a full time missionary for the church in the cradle of the restoration, Independence Missouri. Before this I have served as a leader teaching youth and members. I strive to be a very service oriented person and to try to assist others whenever I can. I go to church every Sunday to strengthen my faith, fulfill my responsibilities in my church community, and help others when they desire to come to Christ.
