Hi I'm Malia

My family is from Hawaii. I grew up in Utah and I'll be serving in the Philippines Olongapo Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is originally from Hawaii and we moved to Utah when I was 5 or 6. I have always had a love for music. In High School I was involved in a group called Madrigals. I was also involved in different choirs and even did band and orchestra. I love to play the guitar, ukulele, and the piano. I am the oldest of 4, I have 3 younger brothers and a mom and dad. I am also a college student, but I've put school on pause for a little while as I serve a mission in the Philippines. I love to be outdoors and spend any chance that i get to be with my family and friends. I also love sports I played Lacrosse in High School and my family has always been into Motorcycles and 4 wheelers. I love to swim and camp. Im a pretty easy going person and Im just happy to wake up everyday ready for a new adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church and the gospel. I love that I am never alone. I know that God is always nearby and if I need him, I just need to ask. I know that Heavenly Father loves and cares for me. I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and His Son. I know that he restored the church for us. I also know that Jesus Christ died for my sins so that one day I could live with him again. I know that if I keep the commandments and obey my Heavenly Father and live my life right I will be able to live in Heaven again. I also have a strong testimony of the priesthood and the wonders that it has done for my family. I know that families can be together forever. I will be able to see the members of my family that have passed on again. I know that Satan is real and that he strives to tempt us and steer us away from the straight and narrow. I know that if we stay close to what we know we will be able to stay on the path and continue to live righteously.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by remaining active in my ward. I am currently in a singles ward and I love it. I have enjoyed getting to know more people that are my age and being able to interact with them has been fun. I also enjoy going to activities that the ward plans. Every once in a while there are dances that the stake puts on for all the singles. Also it's fun to go to activities that the ward plans. I have gotten to know some pretty cool people. I also held different callings in my family ward. Before the singles ward I was a Primary teacher. I taught they 6 year olds. I now know what it means when teachers say they learn more from their students. Who knew that little kids could teach you so much. Although they have quite the little spirits and like to jump around and dance all over the place. They know so much and really taught me what it was to be a Child of God. I was also in young women class presidencies and now I am a Missionary!
