Hi I'm Adam

I was born and raised in Utah. My passions are basketball and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very involved in sports. I played basketball in high school, yet also enjoy playing football, soccer, etc. I actively follow college and professional teams in my free time. I am very passionate when it comes to music. I enjoy a wide variety of genres and artists. When looking through my library, you'd find classic rock, country, modern and classic pop, etc. I play the piano and am learning to play the guitar also. I graduated high school in three years and began my college education at BYU this past fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church. My parents are both Mormon and their parents and grandparents before them were as well. Despite growing up as a Mormon, I personally have made the choice to stay in the gospel and live my life according to God's word. I gained a testimony of The Book of Mormon and I know that it's teachings are true. I know the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ and he has healed me in my life, making it possible for me to return to my Father in Heaven someday. I know that prophets are still among us today and that through them God speaks his word and reveals truth. I have chosen to be a Mormon because my life has been blessed l in result of following the LDS teachings. I have a testimony that this church is the true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a variety of ways. I am dedicated to my personal study of the scriptures and to my callings in the church. I serve as a home teacher, visiting select families in the church to aid them in temporal and spiritual capacities. I enjoy playing basketball and frequently play with people who do and do not share my faith. It is a good way for me to be an example of who I am as a Mormon. I have just recently been called to serve a mission and have accepted that call to serve for two years in Santiago, Chile. Though my job and schooling will be put on hold, I am eager to share the gospel!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mormons are not required to serve a mission. The LDS Church publicly encourages all worthy young men to serve. Young women who have desires to serve may do so. Though it is a social norm in the church to serve a mission, it is by no means a requirement. Mormons believe that through our service to God he will reward us with great blessings. I personally have chosen to serve a mission and am currently preparing to serve for two years in Santiago, Chile. Missionaries are not paid to serve, but personally pay the mission expenses. Why would we give up so much? Because we believe in God and obey his command to "teach all nations" (Matthew 28:19). Show more Show less
