Hi I'm Porter

I have lived in Idaho Falls all my life. I love singing, reading, and computers and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have had a very comfortable life and I have been blessed with all of is necessities. I am currently studying computer science. All of my life I have been very attracted to computers and how they work. I built a computer for my senior project in high school and absolutely loved learning more about them. I hope to use this skill to aid people everywhere and spread the gospel and promote family history work. I have taken Kenpo Karate and enjoyed learning about martial arts and the confidence that comes from it. I have always wanted to play the piano but to this day I still cannot read music. I love singing by myself the songs that I have stuck in my head but I also love singing with my family. I mainly love seeing people be happy and at peace and I try to help in any way i can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of my church not only because my parents raised me in it, but because I have felt God testify to me that it is true. I do not have one occasion that this has happened but rather by my life being laced with love and care from other members of the church. When I read the Book of Mormon or pray intently I feel God's love. I especially feel his love when I repent from my sins and make a commitment to him to never turn away from him or his teachings. I keep doing these things because I know that there is a God in heaven, and though the devil would have me believe otherwise, I know that God lives and that he loves all of us. This knowledge I would not give up for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. Every day I pray and i study the scriptures and feel the power that comes by doing that. I serve as one of the instructors in my ward and although I still get nervous from doing lessons I know that the Spirit guides me in their preparation. I listen to the Spirit all the time and it directs me in all the aspects of my life. In church on Sundays I love to learn what other people do to live the gospel of Jesus Christ better and to hear their experiences. I live my faith with the help of others and God.
