Hi I'm Michael Scott Hickenlooper

I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. I have always been very athletic and play a lot of sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I am an eagle scout and have earned my Duty to God award. My family has always been really active in the church and I have been a member my entire life. I play a lot of sports, mostly soccer and football. I am a huge college football fan! My favorite team is BYU! I enjoy going to football games with my family and doing anything athletic.

Why I am a Mormon

I was always a member of the church but like everyone else I too had to receive a testimony for myself. When I was younger I would go to church because my whole family went. When I was 12 years old, I decided I should start to really try to understand what my teachers taught me. As I learned the gospel, I believed all of it to be true. When I made an effort to understand what was being taught, I felt the spirit more which helped my faith grow. As I moved up in the priesthood I just learned and as I learned I believed. I believed because I noticed a difference. I could see a difference in how happy I was and how happy other members who lived the gospel were compared to people who didnt have the gospel. My testimony came slowly but I received it without hardly even noticing it. It didnt come all at once but instead piece by piece. I almost didnt know I had one until I questioned myself if I knew the church was true. I prayed and prayed to know if it was true. Every time I prayed I had a calm come over me and the thought would always come that I knew it was true all along.

How I live my faith

I participate in a lot of service in my area. I specificly have helped a lot of elderly sisters with mowing their lawns and any other yard work they need. I have been called to serve in the North Carolina, Charlotte Mission and am very excited to go and serve the people there. I have served on the presidency for a few stake camps and have grown a lot from those spiritual experiences. I have always made an effort to share the gospel with my friends and tried to live righteously to be a good example to others.
