Hi I'm Tracy

I am an elementary school teacher. I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother; and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was grew up in a large family in New Jersey. I didn't have much growing up but I did have a family who taught me to love the Lord and to always try to do what's right. As an adult, I love traveling, sewing, making jewelry, and putting together puzzles. I teach school and love spending time with my family. I especially like camping and being surrounded by nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS but I stay with it as an adult because I believe with all my heart that this is Jesus's church on earth. I am a seeker of truth. I am always trying to find out God's will and how I can get closer to Him. I sometimes wonder if I hadn't been raised LDS, if I would have embraced it as an adult. I am convinced that I would have joined the church if I hadn't been raised in it because everything about it rings true to me. Its organization and teachings are the same as those that Jesus taught. The Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand and teach the same doctrines. The church is growing at record speed because people recognize the truth when they hear it. How fortunate we are to live in a time that allows nearly everyone on the earth to have access to it! I have heard some say that there can't be prophets and apostles on the earth any more. I ask those people to ask themselves if they would have believed in Noah, Moses or Abraham if they had lived in their day. There were prophets anciently and there are prophets in our time. Today Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet. I f you are truly a seeker of truth, you will open your heart and find out for yourself. God lives. He hears and answers prayers. If you pray with an honest heart and really want to learn, you will know, like I do, that this church is Jesus's. I know it is. I have prayed and I have felt the peace and comfort of the Spirit witnessing to me that it is true. Ask and He will answer, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. God wants you to be happy and to find the truth. You're on the right path right now as you gain information. But only ask God if you are willing to move forward with the knowledge you'll receive. May God's spirit wash over you as you search for answers to life's greatest questions.

How I live my faith

My brothers and sisters and I were the only Mormon kids in the schools we attended. Most people had never heard of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had no idea of its teachings. I had lots of opportunities to share my beliefs as a child and as an adult. I served as a missionary in Chile when I was 21 years old because I loved the teachings of the church so much and was anxious to share them with others. I love to help out in the church where ever I can. One of my favorite places to serve is in the nursery with the small children. One of the neat things about the church is that it gives you lots of opportunities to do new things and work with different people. I am currently helping with the women's organization, but have also spent lots of time working with the youth. Sometimes I'm asked to give a talk in church or teach a lesson in Sunday School and I'm always happy to do that. I enjoy learning about other faiths and have occasionally popped in on other churches so I can appreciate and understand the beliefs of others. We all have so much to learn from each other.

Are Mormons Christians?

Tracy
When I was a young child, I was asked, "Are you a Christian?" My answer was, "No, I'm a Mormon." I soon learned that my answer was as incorrect as it possibly could have been. When I got a little older I understood the meaning of the word, Christian. A Christian is someone who believes in and follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. The very name, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" bears witness that we are Christians. All that we say and do should honor the sacred name of our savior. I am proud to be a Mormon Christian - a follower of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
