Hi I'm Jason Holmes

I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I'm assigned to serve in the Chile, Vina del Mar mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a very friendly person and love to have fun with friends and family. Growing up I had always played sports and it was a way of life for me. I played football and soccer, till the time I graduated. I went to a semester of college and decided that I needed to serve a mission. I started to prepare myself and earn money to help support me while I was away. I was recently called to serve in the Chile, Vina del Mar mission and will report to the Provo MTC January 16, 2013. I am excited for these next two years, and I know that I have made the right decision in serving our Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and have always been a Mormon. It is what my parents had done so I followed in their footsteps. I have decided to stay a member of this church because I have grown to know the truthfulness that the Gospel holds. I testify and know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he did restore His church to its fullness. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that he died and Atoned for each and every one of our sins, so that we might one day be able to return and live with our Heavenly Father. I know that we have a living prophet today, and that he converses directly with our Heavenly Father so that he can teach us and guide us. I know that the priesthood is back on this earth and that it is the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is teachings of prophets and is the word of God. I know this Gospel is the true Gospel here on earth.

How I live my faith

I have grown to love my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ through faith. It's not always easy to stay in good spirits through certain trials, but I've always gotten through things in my life by having faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I served as an assistant leader to the boy scouts (Webelos), and loved all the time that I was able to spend with the boys. It was a great experience for me, especially since I had to practice my patience when they didn't want to pay attention. It was really fun to look back on my scouting career and remember all of the fun times I had at camps with my friends. I will continue to exercise my faith as I serve our Heavenly Father, and the Chilean people.
