Hi I'm Adam Coffey

I grew up in Georgia and I am now going on a Mission for 2 years in the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My entire life I have loved sports and this part year I was able to play Lacrosse for Brigham Young University. Despite the hours of hard work I loved every second of it and I loved my team. Since this was my first year of college it really helped me socially to have my teammates there to help me branch out into the college life. Besides Lacrosse I have done other things like getting my Eagle scout award, many school clubs and achievements, and also other sports such as basketball, baseball, and soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. People may think that because of this I had no choice of whether or not to be a member of the church but nothing could be further from the truth. I had to find out for myself if the things that I was taught were true and it took much determination through prayer and scripture reading to receive that confirmation of the truthfulness of the church. Now that I have that undeniable and unshakable testimony of the church, I have been able to see the the hand of the Lord in my life more and more frequently. I have had many powerful spiritual experiences that I do not share with others. This is not because they are secret but because they are sacred because they are so close to my heart. It doesn't take total conversion in the church to receive a promptings or a spiritual experience because everyone can have that when asking in prayer if these things are true. However the more major and more common experiences will most likely happen after your conversion. This is because the Lord wants us to take that step of faith in him before he just reveals himself to us. If everyone could see before they believed there would be no strength in faith while being in the church. I do know with all my heart that this church it the only completely true church on Earth and I love it with every fiber of my being. I know that what it taught is true and for anyone who is questioning the teachings they just need to go to the Lord in prayer and I promise and answer will come. While investigating the Lord's church he will not leave you alone! It takes his help to understand and find the truth in his church. I am only 19 years old, I am not a perfect person but I know this church is true and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now in my life I have decided to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. I have been called to serve in the Manila Philippines mission for a period of 24 months. I will have to opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Philippino people in the Tagalog language. There are many things that have help prepare me for this huge step in my life. First and most importantly has been my amazing parents who have led me and who have helped to make the man I am today. Another thing that has helped me to prepare for my mission is the scouting program. Through the years of scouts I was able to learn a great deal of skills that will help me stay strong when time get rough. I was able to become successful in my scouting by reaching the highest scouting rank of Eagle. Scouting was not at all easy for me but I pushed through it and in the end I am so grateful that I did. I know this is how my mission will be and even during the hard times I know I can accomplish what I have set out to do.
