Hi I'm Gisele

My life revolves around my wonderful family, especially my grandchildren! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to make things. No matter whether I am tole painting, sewing, crocheting or crafting odds and ends into something useful or beautiful, I enjoy creating something new . I like to share my creations with people as gifts as well as teach others the things I've learned. I especially enjoy teaching children new skills. I am blessed to be in the Nursery at Church where I can play with, teach, and learn from the children from ages18 months to 3 years old. They are amazing and they also help me not to focus so much on how much I miss my own grandchildren. I also love music and singing. Some of my most precious memories are of singing with my family and doing family programs, especially at Christmas. It has been rewarding to see this tradition expanding as our family has grown and that even if we cannot all be together, the Christmas story is still read from the Bible and Christmas Carols are sung to tell the story of our Savior's birth wherever we may be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was eight years old. Even though I was raised in this Church, I still have had the choice to be a member or leave. I honestly can't imagine my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ as my guide because it is true, and that is why I am a member of this Church. I know with all my heart that I am a child of a Father in Heaven who knows me personally and loves me. I know that he hears and answers my prayers in a personal way. He may not answer them the way I expect or want them answered always, but given time, I find that the answers He gives are the best for me. I know that I am not here by chance or accident. There is a plan. Our Father in Heaven sent His Son, Jesus Christ to show us the way to live and He suffered and layed down His life that we might repent and live again as a part of that great and wonderful plan. I know that He also gave us the Holy Ghost to help us know the truth of all things. I know that we have a living prophet to guide us today, just as the people in ancient times had prophets to guide them. The Church today is organized like the Church that Jesus organized while he was here on the earth because it is His Church. I know that the Priesthood, the power to act in God's name has been restored to the earth. I am so grateful to be a member of this Church and to know these things. It is comforting to know that we are not alone and that we have a loving Father in Heaven who wants us to be happy and have peace in our lives even in these uncertain and troubling times. We can have this peace through following His Son, the Redeemer of Mankind, the Lord Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are still fairly new to South Carolina and our Congregation here has welcomed us with open arms. I love serving in the Nursery and I also conduct the singing sometimes when our music director is out of town. I am able to get to know some of the women in our Congregation better by serving as a visiting teacher. Each month I am able to go with a companion to the homes of a few people and deliver a spiritual message to them and also just visit with them to learn more about them and their families. This is a really great opportunity for people like me who are new and don't know many people well or much about the community. I also have the opportunity to belong to one of the the oldest and largest women's organizations in the world, called the Relief Society. We participate in service projects in the Church and the community, strive to improve ourselves and make things better wherever we are
