Hi I'm Lucy

I'm a single mom. I'm Puerto Rican, from New York City. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Family is very important to me. I was blessed with an amazing mother who raised my sister and I in New York City. Although she endured many challenges in her life and we were not raised in the Mormon religion, through my mother's examples I learned to be caring, loving, selfless and to pray. Unfortunately, my mother passed away right before I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints but through temple work she is able to have the same blessings I can have. I am so very grateful to know that families can be together forever. I enjoy spending time with my family, serving others and reading. I'm looking forward to learning more about genealogy. And I am very excited about becoming a grandma someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon because it has always brought me so much peace and clarity in my life. I am so grateful that I was blessed with the opportunity to raise my children in the gospel. As a young single mom and a new convert to the church, a friend of mine told me that statistically my children were set up to fail. Through my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ I proved statistics wrong!! By living a worthy life and following the commandments my children and I were blessed. I knew I couldn't do it alone. I always knew I couldn't be a prefect mother but I could be a perfectly committed mother. I am so grateful for my trials. I know that we are on this earth to learn and grow through our experiences. I know that my Heavenly Father is always there for me. I'm so grateful to know that my Savior loved me enough to die for me.

How I live my faith

I am constantly learning and growing with my family through the gospel. We read our scriptures and pray together as a family. I wish I could say that this is something we do everyday, but I can't. We are always trying to improve spiritually, as well as in other aspects of our lives. We love serving. We try to improve communication skills within the family as well as with others. We attend church regularly. I am a visiting teacher. I serve as a primary teacher on Sundays. We pay our tithing and we fast once a month. We love to go to the Temple often. We try to eat healthy and exercise. In our home we like to limit T.V. as well as internet use. We keep the Sabbath day holy by not working or spending money on Sunday. In our family, we refrain from profanity, immodest dress, drugs, alcohol and any other harmful substances or behavior.
