Hi I'm Mitch

I'm from Pleasant Grove Utah, I love to snowboard, I'm a mormon Missionary.

About Me

Ive grown up in pleasant grove all my life. My family and I have always been members of the church. Im the youngest of 5 children. I love to Snowboard, go sledding, snowmobiling, pretty much any winter activity. Im the only one in my family who loves the snow more than summer. I also enjoy playing and watching football, basketball, and baseball. Im love to watch movies. Some of my favorite movies include, Lord of the Rings (Extended Special Edition), Avengers, The Dark Knight Trilogy. My favorite TV shows are Top Gear UK, Bones, How I met your mother, and the Big Bang Theory. I graduated with the Pleasant Grove High School class of 2012. Ive been involved in scouting since I was 8, and 1 year ago I recived my Eagle scout award. Ive been called to serve in the Vancouver Canada mission, and I report to the MTC on January 9th 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a mormon from an early age. It was what was expected of me so there really was no other option. When I started to get older it became harder and harder. I was surrounded by people saying they have had these spiritual experiances and I felt I had not yet had one. That all changed my Junior Year of highschool. During the summer my sister and law had started to show some signs of cancer. She had a couple seizers and was starting to become unresponsive. Around the beginning of september she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She had had this tumor twice before. Once when she was 14 then again when she was 18. This ordeal was what defined why I am Mormon. Through this whole experiance I was not always making the best choices. I was constantly thinking why is this happening to our family? Why us? Why now? Up until now I had always said my daily prayers but not always with sincerity. I decided to pray, not a rehearsed prayer but a real one. I got down on my knees and gave a heartfelt prayer. I asked for forgiveness for the things I had done wrong. Why this was going on and peace on the situation. When I finished my prayer I felt this overwhelming calm come over me and I knew this is the true gosple. I love everything about this church. I know president Thomas S. Monson is our true prophet, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and and helped restore this church in these latter days. I love my family and friends and without them I would be completely lost.

How I live my faith

One of our religions's main focus is to help others. This is how I live my faith. I dont mind giving some of my time to help out others in need. I love doing outdoor service projects for people in the community, or anyone that needs help. I am excited to have the opportunity to go and serve the people of British Columbia, Canada for 2 years!
