Hi I'm Ren

I grew up without formal religious instruction, but with a desire for spiritual support in my life. I'm now a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for nearly 27 years to my childhood sweetheart. We have three daughters: one who is newly married, one who is serving a mission, and one who is in high school. I have been a practicing attorney for 25+ years. I love animals and love this beautiful earth and am very concerned about preserving and improving the health and condition of our earthly home. I also love to be physically active and enjoy challenging myself with a variety of such physical activities.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this Church helps me understand, discover and apply the tools to allow me to become a better version of myself. I feel a purpose to my life in applying Gospel principles to my daily experiences. By joining this Church at 21, learning the doctrine and then remaining active in my Church attendance and in my various responsibilities over the past 28 years, I have found meaning to what I do in my home, my workplace and in all areas in which I find myself. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ leads this Church through his prophets, apostles and local leaders. I have a testimony that through the Atonement of Christ, we can improve and grow in this life and return to live with our heavenly family after death. I have a testimony that each of us can work out our salvation with the love and support of the Holy Spirit.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in one of the church leadership councils and work with promoting classes to strengthen marriages and build parenting skills. I love my home teaching families and have been involved with my home teaching families for many years. I take pride in caring for our meeting house, and I try to set an example for my children by showing them my love and joy in service and in living the commandments. Being a convert to the Mormon faith, I find happiness in being obedient to our local and general leaders and in living the commandments with enthusiasm. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides me with guidance and purpose in my life and helps me put events, either which are very specific to me or which generally apply to me (i.e., the occurrence of national and world events), in their proper context to help me understand how to react and respond to these challenges.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Pray on what you read in the Book of Mormon and then act on what you have been taught. Do not hesitate when you feel the Spirit -- we should act and follow all spiritual promptings we receive for that is God speaking to each of us directly and giving us the chance to enjoy the blessings available to us by living a Gospel centered life.
