Hi I'm KC Sosa

I'm half Honduran but I don't speak Spanish. I speak Chinese. I served a mission in Taiwan. I'm a Mormon!!!! :)

About Me

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I like to play guitar, and I am interested in all sorts of music. I like all kinds of things from hiking to reading to just goofing off with my friends. I love my family more than anything in the world, and I want to set the best example for my 3 younger siblings at all times. I went to BYU for my freshman year of college. Still deciding what I want to major in, but I'm leaning towards something to do with Film. Right now I am Serving a mission in Taipei, Taiwan! It's pretty great!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself that this Church has the fullness of Jesus Christ's Gospel, and I learn more about that fullness every day. I know that I don't know everything about the gospel, but I am learning new things every day. Those things which I learn bring me closer to Christ. I love learning new things about the gospel of Jesus Christ It provides a lasting happiness that nothing else can provide. I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I have prayed to know if they are true multiple times. I have found out that together they testify of Jesus Christ, and prove that He Was, Is, and Forever Will Be our Savior. I wish everyone would read the Book of Mormon, and pray to ask God if it is true. Through my own experiences of study, prayer, and application of the gospel I have gained answers to my questions and those answers have blessed my life in more ways than I can count. This life has SO many challenges and questions, but through this Gospel, I have found that challenges can be more easily overcome. My questions have been answered and continue to be answered. I know that anyone else who sincerely has a desire to become a better person and know more about our Savior, Jesus Christ can gain this same knowledge. All he asks us to do is ask sincerely God in his name (through prayer) if these things are true. Anyone who does so will find an answer.

How I live my faith

I like to share my beliefs, and knowledge of the gospel with anyone who wants to hear. I enjoy serving, and believe that it gives me an opportunity to be a positive influence and a source of light in the world. I try to always learn from my experiences, and set the example of Jesus Christ. Everyday, I try to improve myself and become better than I was the day before. Nobody should ever feel under appreciated, so I always do my best to love everyone.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

KC Sosa
The simple answer to this question is: No. We believe in doing good to all people no matter who they are. In the Book of Mormon there is a scripture (2 Nephi 25:26) that says that "we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ". We wouldn't do these things unless we were trying to live up to the example that Jesus Christ set. Jesus was a humble, kind, generous man who wouldn't ever hesitate to serve someone. He is the one that we are trying to be like. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

KC Sosa
No. I am a missionary right now, and I chose to serve a mission. I've saved up my money throughout the past years so that I could. I did it because I love Jesus Christ, and his Gospel. I want others to feel the same happiness that His gospel has brought me, and this is a way that I can start to share his love with as many people as possible. I truly believe that my service as a missionary will help me become more Christ-like and help me set a foundation for the rest of my life. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

KC Sosa
The Book of Mormon is the Best Book ever!!!! As long as you read it prayerfully, desire to know God's will for you, and have a question in mind, it can do miracles. It has done miracles for me and others, and it continues to do so. It, like the Bible, testifies of Christ and his divinity as the Son of God and our Savior. It truly is the word of God. Read it, Pray about it, Ponder what it says and you'll see what I mean. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

KC Sosa
Actually there are multiple ways we can get to know Heavenly Father. One of the main ways is by talking to him. It's kind of like picking up the phone and talking with a parent or a good friend, except with God we don't need a phone. We can talk with him at any place, at any time. By Praying in the name of Jesus Christ, we are able to commune with him. Tell him everything. Your fears, your worries, your joys, and your excitements. Let him know what you need and want. Of course when you develop a relationship with anyone else, they will want to talk with you as well. Let Heavenly Father know that you are interested in what he has to say to you, and then be willing to listen, and obey once he has answered. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

KC Sosa
Well, the main reason is that we are all imperfect. We will make mistakes. We will commit sin (which is disobedience to God's will). Every single one of us needs a Savior in order to make it home to live in Heavenly Father's presence. We don't however believe that we are saved by Christ's atonement just because we believe in him. We have to put forth the effort. We have to continuously, wholeheartedly want to become better, use the principles and doctrines of the gospel in our lives, and take the necessary steps to change. the process of Repentance can only be started through patience, humility and our personal willingness to change. True and complete forgiveness can only be brought about through Christ's atonement. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

KC Sosa
I believe that we all have the ability to control our own temptations and weaknesses, especially with God's help. Through self-control / self-mastery we can know our weaknesses and avoid those things which will limit our growth and self-confidence. I also believe that as we know the difference between true happiness and lust, we'll be able to distinguish between the things that will leave us with feelings of love and comfort, and the things that will leave us with feelings of shame and regret. I love what is said about this in the book "Jesus the Christ" by James E. Talmage: "Happiness includes all that is really desirable and of true worth in pleasure and much beside. Happiness is genuine gold. Pleasure, but guilded brass, which corrodes in the hand. Happiness is true food, wholesome, nutritious and sweet; it builds up the body and generates energy for action, physical, mental and spiritual.... True happiness is lived over and over and over again in memory. Always with the renewal of the original good." Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

KC Sosa
Family is the start of everything! Every single person in this world has a father and a mother. The choices made by a father and a mother will impact a child for the rest of his or her life. The reason why we focus on family so much is because if children have good, clean, moral standards that come from a loving environment, they are more likely to become men and women that make not only their own homes a greater place to be, but also the society in which they live.
