Hi I'm Rick Martin

I grew up in Bay Area and now live in Capitola with my wife and 3 kids near the ocean, oh yeah, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by parents that had different religious upbringings. At an early age and through my own personal experiences I decided I wanted to be a member of the LDS church. It has been a decision that has blessed me throughout my life. It continues to bless me, my wife and our 3 childrens life today. Now I enjoy having a few cold ones with the boys. By that I mean surfing the winter waves with my two sons. I dont drink and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this, the LDS, church isn't easy. It shouldn't be. We have a responsibility to be representatives of our Savior, Jesus Christ and share His restored gospel. It is not ours, we dont own or create it, it is His. He established it. We take this seriously. Thats why we put so much effort into missionary work. If you can understand this, you can understand why it is important for us to live good lives. We are all individuals. We all make our own choices. We all know right and wrong. As members of the LDS church we are taught to make correct decisions. We know that we are responsible for our actions, good or bad. This guides me every day in every decision I make. Truth aside, being a member of this church makes me a better person, father and friend. Its not always easy but extremely rewarding. Personal experiences and efforts I have made have led me to know this church has our Savior, Jesus Christ at its head, is led by a living prophet and the only place for me regarding my religious efforts.

How I live my faith

I am involved with missionaries and missionary work. I realize the importance of sharing a good thing, something that can positively effect anyone everyday of their life. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is a natural thing to do. I appreciate others ideas, thoughts and beliefs. I would like to think that we do missionary work by living good lives, being good examples of Christians and that alone will attract others to us. Then they, on their own, will make the effort to find the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, which we have. This is where the missionaries do their thing ; teach and share personal experiences by the power of the spirit that teaches truth to each of us individually. No matter what you may know, think, feel or believe, let us see if we can positively add to it.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Rick Martin
Whatever you want regarding God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, His Church and Gospel. They do have specific discussions to share about these topics but if you have questions, they have answers. If you are in the Santa Cruz area, I'll come out with them if you would like. Show more Show less
