Hi I'm Jeff Brown

I grew up in West Jordan Utah. I am serving my mission in Iowa Des Moines. I love it!

About Me

I have grown up in Utah my entire life. Never lived out of Utah until now on my mission. I grew up loving to work on engines. I had a go-cart that was given to me by a neighbor that I loved to work on and drive. As I got older I got my own truck that I can work on. I plan to be a mechanic when I am older. I also did BMX bike riding. I spent a lot of time at the skateparks with friends. I worked at a 7-11 gas station and it is one of the most fun places to work at. I met a ton of new people there and got over my shyness working there.

Why I am a Mormon

BECAUSE I LOVE IT AND IT IS TRUE!!! I am a Mormon because it has brought a lot of comfort and happiness in times of need. I have a strong testimony of the Plan of Salvation. The plan that God has for us. We weren't just sent to on this earth to waste away, we have a purpose in this life, and the Book of Mormon teaches us what that purpose is. I figured out my purpose in life when I realized my identity as a Son of God. I know that we are all sons and daughters of God and that we do have a eternal worth. God loves each and everyone of us. He will not abandon us. Only you can abandon him, but He is always standing behind you with His arms opened waiting for you to come back. I also know that families can be together forever for all eternity. It is great to know that you can be with your passed away loved ones again. Death is not the end, but only the beginning of a new life which is yet to come. I can't wait to be sealed in the temple to a daughter of God and start my own family, that I can be with for all time and eternity, and have nothing separate us, not even death.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving my Lord as a full time missionary in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. I love it here. I have always knew that the gospel was true but I never internalized it until I came out on my mission. I love doing service! Knowing that as I am helping people and making there burdens easier brings so much joy into my life. I have always been willing to drop everything that I am doing and go help someone in need.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jeff Brown
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. The young men starting at about age 19 are called to serve by our heavenly father to dedicate 2 years of our life to serving Him. Serving a mission is a voluntary and do not get paid to do so. Some young women want to serve a mission and they can at about the age of 20. If you did not get the opportunity to you can go as a senior couple with your spouse. Show more Show less
