Hi I'm Sangji Lee

Hey! I grew up in Korea till the age of 11 then moved to New Zealand. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there! I am a recent high school graduate. I enjoy singing, playing the piano, making food, watching good movies, cuddling with my dog and spending time with friends and family. I love seafood, sunny days, opportunities to share the gospel, the gift of prayer and friendships. I am really interested in studying nutrition at university. It's such an interesting field of study for me. One day, I wish to make a positive difference to the health of many people through my work within the study of nutrition.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to the church. When I was six, my parents were introduced to the gospel by missionaries back in Korea. Since then I came to church every Sunday with my family. As a young girl, I loved the church. Not because I had a strong testimony of it but because of all the fun activities, friends, the Primary ( a sunday school for kids). I had no doubts about the church but I didn't have a strong testimony of it either. When I was 16, I went to an EFY that was held in Auckland. It was like a conference for all the youth (ages 14 to 18) in New Zealand. One night during the EFY week, we had a testimony meeting. People in my EFY group got up and bore their testimonies about the church. I got up and bore mine as well. As I did this, I felt such an overwhelming feeling of the Spirit. It was like a warm blanket of peace, joy and love. I have never felt such pure happiness in my life. It was Heavenly Father expressing how much He loves me and how pleased He is that I was in His church. I knew from then on the truthfulness of the presence of our Heavenly Father. I have continuously felt that 'warm blanket' feeling throughout my life. It hasn't always been easy but I have been happy because I know that no matter what happens I have Jesus Christ with me. The Restoration of Christ's gospel testifies his infinite love for all of us and I want more people to know that. That is why I am planning to serve a full-time mission at age 19.

How I live my faith

I participate in church by playing the organ during sacrament meetings. I have personally felt the hymns bringing the feeling of our Father's Spirit into my heart. The combination of the words and the music has a great power to invite that peaceful feeling of the Spirit. I am grateful to be a part of providing that music in sacrament meetings. I live my faith by striving to grow. Our Father in Heaven sees our potential and wants us to grow continuosly. That is why He has given me many experiences in the course of my life. Those experiences, especially the ones during my high school years, have made me decide who I want to be in my life on Earth. I want to be an instrument to Him. I want to be a missionary. I want to be a good mother and wife. I want to study Nutrition. I want to have His Spirit with me everyday.
