Hi I'm Ashley

I have lived overseas for most of my life. I love to read and write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Brigham Young University in December 2012 with a Major in English and a Minor in Spanish. I love to read, and it's not uncommon for me to read at least four books in a month. I also really love to write, and you'll often find me dreaming up poems or short stories. I'm an animal lover. I have been horse-back riding since I was seven years old, and I love to go riding as often as I can. My family just got our first dog--Jack the Samoyed--and I couldn't be more excited! I grew up overseas, and I hope to find a job that allows me to travel or even live internationally. My favorite places in the world are Horsham, England, Ireland, Sydney, Australia, Cancun, Mexico, and Utah. Really I love to be anywhere that my family is. I have three sisters, two of which are older and one of which is younger. My two older sisters are married and now I have six nieces and nephews! I'm obviously their favorite aunt--at least I like to think so. :) Right now I'm serving a mission in the beautiful state of Wisconsin, and I couldn't be happier. It's been an amazing experience for me to grow as a person and as a member of this church.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ lives, and I know that they love us. They know each of us individually, and they know each of our trials and our joys. I have felt the power of prayer in my live, and I have learned that our Heavenly Father will always answer our prayers. It may not always be the answer that we want, but He will always give us the answer that we need. This Church has given me purpose and direction in my life, and I know that this Church is true.

How I live my faith

For 18 months I get to serve a mission in Wisconsin, USA. I have the opportunity to share the beautiful message of this gospel, to share with others how it has blessed my life, and I also have the great blessing to see how it can affect those around me.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. In our church we are taught that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He came to this earth to establish His church and to perform the Atonement. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for all our sins and our weaknesses. I know that He suffered pain, illness, and sorrow, and I know that He did that because He loves us. He provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and to be lifted in our trials so that we could return to live with our Heavenly Father again. We are also taught that Christ's death and Resurrection is an essential part of the Atonement. Because Jesus Christ was resurrected, every person that comes to Earth is able to have their spirits restored to a perfect body after we die. Jesus Christ provided a way to overcome the two things that separate us from Heavenly Father: physical and spiritual death. By following His gospel and His example, we are able to one day live with our families forever in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
