Hi I'm Allen

I grew up in Wilson, NC and my wonderful parents raised me in the Mormon church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my high school sweetheart in the Washington DC temple in 1995. We have 4 children all boys Jared, Davis 14(twins), Blake 13, and Will 5. I love to be outdoors, me and my boys love to hunt and fish. I am a Eagle Scout and have been involved with Scouting since I was a child. I have been Scoutmaster 2 different time in our ward currently for about 5 years. My three oldest boys are involved with our troop and I very much enjoy spending time with them working on Scouting. I have a wonderful extended family as well. I have 1 brother, 3 sisters, 6 nephews, 6 nieces, and 1 great nephew. We all love to get together at my parents home and play corn hole after a big Sunday meal. I love to make people laugh. I normal can think of something funny to say in just about any situation. My call it adding the funny? That came from my wife telling very long stories. I would get bored and start adding funny parts to them and it would always crack my kids up. I love my calling and very much enjoy magnifying it. I believe working with the youth and watching them grow both spiritually and temporally is the best thing in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Well having grown up in a very active Mormon home I could take the easy path and say because my parents were Mormon that's why I am. That's not all together true. I have had my questions about The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints also. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true. I have asked him if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I have asked him if all the things I have learned growing up in the church were true. From the songs I sang in Primary as a child to if he really appeared to Joseph Smith and told him "This is my beloved son hear him". The answer I received in my heart was without a doubt was YES! That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of our savior Jesus Christ. I serve him by fulfilling my calling of working with the young men ages 12-18 in our church. I give lessons on Sunday to a group ages 12 & 13. I am the scoutmaster of our Boy Scout Troop 221. I enjoy going camping and teaching outdoor skills.
