Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a hiker. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eighth of ten children. I enjoy hanging out with my siblings and going on adventures with my friends! Hiking is another activity that I love! It's great to leave the busy world and enjoy nature. I come from a family of singers, and I really love singing choral music with them! Some of my aunts and uncles have nicknamed us "The Von Trapp Family". I have been attending college, but I will be taking a break for two years so I can go on a mission to Germany!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been part of this church for quite a few generations now. I've always gone to church, but I used to just go through the motions. I was never truly converted until a few years ago. I was going through a rough time in my life. I was doing things that weren't the best, and I knew it. I went to Seminary one day and the teacher gave the lesson that changed my life. We talked about Joseph Smith's experience known as "The First Vision", and how he went to a private grove of trees and asked God which of all the churches was true. My teacher encouraged my class to liken this story to our own lives. He told us if we ever had a question that needed answering, that we should go to our own grove or private place and ask God. So, just like Joseph Smith did, I went to my own private grove of trees and I asked God if this church was true. Right as I asked this, I heard a voice, almost like a person speaking was standing right next to me. It said, "Andrew, you KNOW it's true." I know that God answers our prayers. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church on the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it brings men close to Christ. I know that families can be together for eternity. I have a testimony of Christ's atonement, and that everyone and anyone can become pure if they turn to Christ. I know that God loves every one of his children, and that his greatest desire and purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of his children. This knowledge means the world to me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission, so I can be an instrument in God's hands to bring his children to Christ. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently the 12-14 year old Sunday school teacher. It can be a hassle to get their attention sometimes, but I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of them better, and hearing their testimonies has increased my faith. I just graduated from the Young Men classes, and am now attending the adult classes. I miss being with the youth, but I find the adult classes to be very enlightening.
