Hi I'm Becky Patane

I was born in Salt Lake City Utah and grew up in the shadow of the Manti Temple.

About Me

I was born in Salt Lake City and then grew up in the shadow of the Manti Temple. I was in the Mormon Miracle Pageant for many years and loved portraying the story of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon on the temple hill. I met my wonderful husband while attending BYU-HC and we have three beautiful daughters. We have lived in Utah, Hawaii, Northern California and Colorado. I love being a wife and mother. I consider myself to be a crafter. I like to do just about any craft, but my favorite is counted cross stitch because I can make it look perfect. I have knitted, crocheted, done candle wicking, printed cross stitch, embroidery, wood crafts, plastic canvas and sewing. I am in a card swap and love coming up with the ideas for a new card and then crafting it. I collect snowmen and have gotten quite a large collection of unique snowmen. i also love to read. My favorite books are mysteries, especially Mary Higgins Clark and Jose S Kilpack. I love to go to the temple on Tuesdays when my husband works the morning shift and try to go as many times as I can every month.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all of my life so I have not ever known any other way. However, I do know that I am comforted with the knowledge that we can be together as a family for all eternity. The hope and joy that comes from that knowledge is unfathomable.

How I live my faith

I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated. I let people in line ahead of me at the store if they only have a few things. I make faces at little kids that are having a hard time being still to try to take their mind off of what is making things so hard for them. It sounds silly, but I always put a little bit of change into the bell ringers buckets at Christmas time because every little bit helps. A dollar here and there to someone on a street corner helps too. I believe that we should let people know that they are doing a good job or that they are neat people. I like to listen to people talk and enjoy their stories. I try to show by faith and my beliefs through what I say and do. Being an example is important. I like to take meals to someone who is having a hard time or is sick.
